In kerala ,no sadhya is complete without papadams.This is a unique dish which is quick to make and a must try recipe for papad lovers. it can be served as side dish with Rice or porridge.

Papadam ularthiyathu (4)


  1. Papad/Papadam(cut diagonally ) – 8
  2. Dry red chilly – 10
  3. Shallots – 6
  4. Curry leaves
  5. Oil

Papadam ularthiyathu (1)


  1. Heat oil in a kadai. fry papads and keep aside.
  2. Grind red chilly, shallots into a coarse paste.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp oil in  a pan. Suate chilly paste and curry leaves for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add fried papad pieces to it.
  5. Stir gently to get mixed.
  6. Remove from fire.
  7. Serve with rice or Kanji.
