Preparation:

  1. Cut bananas into 2-3 pieces and steam cook. Peel off the skin, cut it through the center and remove those soft black seeds inside it.
  2. Mash well using a spoon or something similar and mix it with coconut and jaggery – this mixture will be used as a filler for the samosas later.
  3. Add maida, butter, salt (to taste) and add water little by little to prepare a smooth dough.
  4. Make small round balls out of the dough. Roll out the balls and cut into semi circles and give it a cone shape – your imagination plays a role here :-)
  5. Now, fill the cone appropriately using the mixture we prepared earlier in step 2
  6. Heat oil in a pan (kadai) and deep fry until it becomes brown in color. Serve hot.

Normally, Gulab Jamun’s are shining golden brown made of small thick milk dough balls immersed in sugar syrup and often flavored with cardamom, but the one I’m going to suggest today is totally different.

This one is a unique blend of Gulab Jamun as well as everyone’s common – rice. These are rice balls immersed in milk instead of sugar syrup . Let’s see what does it take to prepare such a unique “Gulab Jamun”?
