Bitter Gourd Kichadi (Pavakka kichadi)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  1. Bitter Gourd(Pavakka) – 250 gms
  2. Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
  3. Green chilly – 100 gms
  4. Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
  5. Curd – 1/2 litre
  6. Dry red chilly – 1
  7. Oil – 200 gms
  8. Salt  to taste
  9. Curry leaves

Preparation:

  1. Slice the bitter gourd into thin round pieces. Deep fry until brown and crispy. Place them on a  tissue paper so as to remove the excess oil. You can use ladies finger instead of bitter gourd.
  2. Grind coconut, green chilly, mustard seeds in to a fine paste.
  3. Mix well coconut paste  with curd, pavakka pieces and salt.
  4. Boil on low flame and once bubble comes, turn off the heat.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds, red chillies and curry leaves and add it to the above mixture.
