Cabbage Thoran
Ingredients:
- One small or medium size Cabbage, shredded into small pieces
- Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
- Shallots – 5 to 6
- Green chilly – 3 to 4
- Curry leaves
- Mustard seeds – 1/4 tsp
- Urad Dal – 1/4 tsp
- Coconut oil
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
- Grind coconut,green chilly,shallot ,curry leaves to a coarse paste.
- Heat oil in a pan.Splutter mustard seeds,urad dal ,curry leaves and add cabbage,salt.stir well and cover with a lid and cook . There is no need to add water while cooking cabbage.
- once the cabbage is cooked well, add the coconut mix to it and stir for another 2-3 mins till dry.
- Serve with rice and sambhar.
simple , comfort food thats what i call this dish!
Guess this must be a good combination with dhall or sambhar rice
Here S wouldn’t allow to cook it much, so we make a crispy version.. 🙂
