Cabbage-Urulkizhangu Upperi (Cabbage-Potato Subji)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  1. Potato(medium, cut lengthwise) – 2
  2. Cabbage – 150 gms
  3. Onion – 2
  4. Tomato – 2
  5. Green chilly – 2
  6. Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  7. Coriander powder – 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilly powder – 1/4 tsp
  9. Cumin seeds – 1/4 tsp
  10. Garam masala powder- 1/4tsp
  11. Curry leaves
  12. Salt
  13. Oil

Preparation:

  1. Since cabbage needs less time to cook , first boil potatoes with salt and tumeric powder and keep aside.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds,chopped onions,masala powders,chopped tomatoes and saute well.
  3. Add shredded cabbage(here I used purple cabbage) to it and mix.
  4. Cover and cook on low flame without adding water.once it is well cooked add boiled potatoes to it and stir.
  5. Garnish with curry leaves.
