Potato-Carrot Dosa

As carrot and potato are rich in vitamins, both kids and adults love this dosa. This is a good combo with ulli (shallot) chammanthi or coconut chutney.

Ingredients:

  1. Potato (medium)-2
  2. Carrot(medium) – 2
  3. Raw rice – 1 cup
  4. Onion -1
  5. Green chilly – 4
  6. Asafoetida – one pinch
  7. Curry leaves
  8. Salt
  9. Oil

Preparation:

  1. First peel off skin of potatoes and carrots and chop into small pieces.Boil till soft.
  2. Soak raw rice in water for sometime.
  3. To make dosa batter, grind raw rice with boiled veggies,green chilly chopped onions,asafoetida and curry leaves.
  4. Heat oil in a non stick pan and make dosas.
  5. Serve hot with ulli chammanthi.

To make ulli chammanthi:

  1. Shallot -8
  2. Dry red chilly -2-3
  3. Salt
  4. Coconut oil

Fry shallots and dry red chilly till light brown in oil.grind it into a fine paste. Add coconut oil and salt to it and mix well..

    Hi,

    I made this dosa but for me it was very difficult to take out from pan.When i pour the batter I cannot make round as we do for dosa.I tried with little oil stil it was sticking to pan.What should i do.

    hi safna,
    Use a non stick pan and it comes out good.The batter should be thick in consistency and always keep the flame on medium.if the pan gets too heated, it will be difficult to make round.

    Or you are using different type of rice instead of raw rice.
