Ingredients
- Butter - 90 g
- Sugar - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1 whole
- All-purpose flour or maida - 1/2 cup
- Baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- Vanilla essence - 1/4 tsp
- Corn flakes - 1 cup
- M&M candy
Instructions
- 1Preheat the oven to 350°F/180°C so it is hot and ready when the cookies go in.
- 2In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar with a hand mixer until the mixture is light and creamy.
- 3Add the egg and vanilla essence and beat on low speed until fully incorporated and smooth.
- 4Sift the all-purpose flour and baking powder into the bowl, then beat on low speed until just combined into a soft dough.
- 5Using a spoon, take spoonfuls of the dough and roll them into balls with your hands.
- 6Place the corn flakes in a large bowl and crush them lightly so you still have some larger flakes for texture.
- 7Roll each dough ball in the crushed corn flakes, pressing gently so the flakes adhere and form an even coating.
- 8Arrange the coated balls on a baking tray with space between them to allow for spreading, and gently flatten each ball with the palm of your hand.
- 9Press an M&M candy into the center of each biscuit so it stays in place while baking.
- 10Bake for 20 minutes, until the cookies turn golden in color.
- 11Allow the biscuits to cool for 10 minutes on the tray, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 12Optional: Serve warm with a glass of milk.
