This is my 300th post and it took me long 7 years to complete 300 posts. On this occasion,I want to thank all my fellow bloggers and readers for the support given to me during these years.I am celebrating this achievement by sharing a sweet dish called dates balls.Dates are a good source of carbohydrates and it is  stuffed with filling such a s almonds,cashews or cream cheese which can be given as snack for kids.These healthy dates balls are really crunchy and kids will definitely love it.Enjoy!

  1. Dates(seedless,chop into small pieces) – 1 cup
  2. Butter – 1/2 cup
  3. Sugar – 1/2 cup
  4. Desiccated Coconut – 1 1/2 cup
  5. Corn flakes(I used Kellogg’s) – 2 cups
  6. Cashewnuts – 1/2 cup
  7. Egg – 1
  8. Vanilla Essence – 1 tsp

  1. In a bowl,mix dates,butter,sugar,cashewnuts,egg and vanilla essence.
  2. Heat a heavy bottomed pan.Add the dates mix to it and stir well.
  3. Once sugar starts to melt, remove from fire.Let it cool.
  4. Once the mix is cooled,add crushed corn flakes to it.Mix well.
  5. Make balls out of the mix.Roll in desiccated coconut.
  6. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
  7. Store in a air tight container.

Bread Rolls 




  1. Bread  -  6 slices
  2. Potato -  5
  3. Shallots – 4
  4. Coriander leaves -  1 tbsp
  5. Garlic pods -  4
  6. Green chilly – 4
  7. Garam Masala – 1/2 tsp
  8. Red chilly powder -  1 tsp
  9. Maida -  2 tbsp
  10. Salt
  11. Oil

  1. First remove the bread crust.
  2. Boil potatoes and mash well.
  3. For the filling, mix  chopped shallots, coriander leaves,chopped garlic, red chilly powder, green chilly,garam masala powder, boiled potatoes and salt.
  4. Soak bread pieces in water and squeeze it by pressing between the palms.
  5. Place the potato mix in the centre of the bread slice and roll it .seal the edges using maida.
  6. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry till golden brown.
  7. Serve with chilly sauce.

1.Bread slices – 6


  • Grated carrot – 1
  • Onion(chopped)- 1
  • Tomato(chopped) – 2
  • Egg -1
  • Salt
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Cheese(grated) – 2tbsp
  • Oil

3.Green Chutney:-

  • Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves -1/4 cup
  • Mint leaves – 1/4 cup
  • Salt
  • Butter – 1tbsp

4.Butter (Spread for bread slices)

  1. Heat oil in a pan.saute chopped onion,tomatoes and once it is done add beaten egg,salt to it and fry.Sprinkle pepper powder and grated cheese to it and mix well.
  2. For the green chutney,grind together coriander leaves,pudina leaves,grated coconut and salt to a fine paste.Add butter to it and mix well.
  3. Remove the crust and spread one side of bread slices with butter.Take one slice of bread and spread the carrot mix on it. Place another slice of bread on top of it .Spread green chutney .
  4. Place one more slice of bread on top.Press firmly and cut it diagonally using a knife and serve.
  5. Repeat the same with the remaining slices.
