Types of Coconut Chutney

Type 1
  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Chilly(red/green) – 3-4 nos
  3. Shallots  – 2 to 3
  4. Tamarind – 1 handful
  5. Coriander leaves
  6. Salt to taste

Grind all ingredients well in a mixer.

Type 2

  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Dry Chilly –  3 to 4
  3. Garlic  Clove – 1
  4. Salt to taste 

Grind all ingredients well in a mixer.

Type 3

  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Dry chilly – 4 nos
  3. Shallot – 3 nos
  4. Corainder Seeds – 1/4 cup
  5. Tamarind – 1 handful
  6. Salt to taste

Grind all ingredients well in a mixer.

Type 4

  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Pudina Leaves – 1/4 bunch
  3. Coriander Seeds – 1/4tsp
  4. Green Chilly – 4
  5. Tamarind – a handful
  6. Salt to taste

Grind all ingredients well in a mixer.

Type 5

  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Toor daal – 2 tsp
  3. Moong Daal – 2 tsp
  4. Urad Daal – 2 tsp
  5. Dry Red Chilly – 5 to 6 nos
  6. Asafoetida – 1/4 tsp
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Pepper- 5 to 6 nos
  9. Tamarind- A handful

Fry all the ingredients till light brown and then grind well in a mixer.

Type 6

  1. Coconut – 1 cup
  2. Dry Red Chilly – 3 nos
  3. Shallot (Small Onion) – 2 nos
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Tomato – 2
  6. Thick yogurt (Indian curd) – 1/2 cup

Grind first five ingredients well in a mixer.  Mix the paste with yogurt and serve with rotis (Indian bread).
