Akbari Paneer

This is a rich and tangy dish that is easy to make.it goes well with rice or Naan.

Ingredients

  1. Paneer(grated) – 250 gms
  2. Onion(medium,cut into long thin pieces) – 2
  3. Bell pepper/Capsicum – 1
  4. Ginger(cut into long thin pieces) – 1 “ piece
  5. Garlic (cut into long thin pieces) – 8
  6. Cardamom pods – 3
  7. Cashewnuts – 1/2 oz
  8. Cinnamon –1”piece
  9. Ghee – 4 tbsp
  10. Tomatoes(medium) – 3
  11. Red chilly powder – 1tsp
  12. Milk – 2 cups
  13. Salt
  14. Coriander leaves
  15. Fresh cream – to garnish

Preparation

  1. Heat ghee in a pan. Add onion,ginger,garlic,cinnamon and cardamom.
  2. Fry till the onions turn brown in color.
  3. remove from fire. Blend the above mix in a blender along with tomato to a puree.
  4. Fry the paste in ghee again for 5 minutes.
  5. Add salt to taste,diced capsicum,cashewnut pieces and chili powder.
  6. Add grated paneer and fry for 3 minutes.
  7. Add milk to ti and cook till gravy becomes thick.
  8. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and a drizzle of fresh cream.
  9. serve hot with rice or Naan.
