Beetroot-Okra Pachadi (Beetroot-Vendakka Pachadi)


  1. Grated beetroot (medium) – 2
  2. Okra (medium,cut into round pieces) – 2
  3. Grated coconut – 1 cup
  4. Green chilly -2
  5. Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
  6. Cumin seeds(jeera) – 1/4 tsp
  7. Coconut oil – 2tbsp
  8. Curd – 1/2 cup
  9. Dry red chilly – 2
  10. Salt
  11. curry leaves


  1. Fry okra piece sin oil till light brown and keep aside.
  2. Grind coconut,green chilly, mustard seeds ,jeera into a fine paste.
  3. Heat oil in a pan.splutter mustard seeds,dry red chilly ,curry leaves.
  4. Saute grated beetroot till soft.
  5. Then add the coconut paste to it.Add curd, salt and boil for 1-2 mins.
  6. Add the fried okra pieces and mix well.
  7. Serve hot with rice.
