Drumstick Leaves Parippu Curry (Muringyila Erissery)

  1. Toor daal – 1/4 cup
  2. Drumstick leaves – 1 bunch
  3. Turmeric Powder – 1/4tsp
  4. Chilly Powder – 1 tsp
  5. Grated coconut – 1/2 cup
  6. Cumin Seeds (Jeera) – 1/4 tsp
  7. Shallot – 6
  8. Coconut oil – 2 tbps
  9. Salt to taste
  1. Boil toor daal with turmeric, chilly powder and sufficient water.
  2. Once boiled, add drumstick leaves, salt with 1 more cup of water and cook for some time.
  3. Grind coconut and jeera (Add coconut paste and boil for 3 to 4 mins.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and fry shallots till brown in color. Add fried shallots to curry.
  5. Serve wtih rice

    i used to eat a drumstick curry with coconut(no dal) with pathiri back home. no drumstick leaves here to try this!
