Maldives Fish Curry

 

Ingredients

  1. Fish – 1/2 kg
  2. Onion(chopped) – 1
  3. Tomato(medium) –1
  4. Ginger-garlic paste –1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder – 1tsp
  6. Cumin powder – 1 tsp
  7. Fish curry masala – 1 tbsp
  8. Cinnamon – 1/4 inch
  9. Cardamom – 1
  10. Curry leaves
  11. Salt
  12. Coconut milk – 1/4 cup
  13. Coconut Oil

Preparation

  1. Heat coconut oil in a clay pot/Manchatti.
  2. Saute chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, cardamom, curry leaves  and cinnamon.
  3. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, fish curry masala powder and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Once the raw smell goes , add chopped tomato and saute well.
  5. Add 1/2 cup of water and let it boil. Add salt.
  6. Add fish  and cook well.
  7. Once the fish pieces are cooked well, add coconut milk and mix well.
  8. Dont let coconut milk boil.
  9. Remove from stove.
