Koova Virakiyathu ( Arrowroot Halwa)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ingredients:

  1. Arrowroot powder – 200 gm
  2. Jaggery – 200 gm
  3. Grated Coconut – 1/2 cup
  4. Banana(cut into thin round pieces) – 1
  5. Ghee – 3 tsp
  6. Cardamom powder – 1 tbsp

Preparation:

  1. Melt jaggery to make syrup.Strain to remove impurities if any.
  2. Mix arrowroot powder with water to make a smooth paste.
  3. Add jaggery syrup, grated coconut,banana pieces to it and mix well .
  4. Heat a heavy bottomed pan and add the arrowroot mix to it and stirring continuously on medium flame.
  5. When it starts thickening and leaves the sides of the pan, transfer it to a flat pan greased with ghee.
  6. Sprinkle cardamom powder on top of it.
  7. Once it is cool, you can cut into desired shapes.

    Koova Halwa looks delicious ..I never made this ..will try for sure ..da actullay i forgt to wrte abt the shallots in m sambar ..he he ..thanks for remembering me .. 🙂

    This is a new variety of halwa for me…I have seen arrowroot powder in supermarkets but did not know that we could whip up halwa from it. Looks good Prajusha.

    For 200 gms of arrowrrot powder, you can add 500ml of water

    TRY NEW
    Just mix aeroroot powder and watr.heat oil in a pan
    add a few rice grain and later add the mix.
    cook till it becomes a tight paste.serve in a plate and sprinkle sugar ovr it
