Parsi Prawn Curry (7)

 

Ingredients:

  1. Prawn – 1/2 kg
  2. Turmeric powder –1 tsp
  3. Red chilly Powder – 1 tbsp
  4. Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  5. Garlic paste-1 tsp
  6. Onion(medium,finely chopped) – 1
  7. Tomato (medium,finely chopped) –2
  8. Tamarind Pulp – 1/4 cup
  9. Jaggery(grated) – 4 tbsp
  10. Coriander leaves (chopped) – 1/4 cup
  11. Salt
  12. Oil

Parsi Prawn Curry (6)

Preparation:

  1. First thoroughly clean and devein prawns .
  2. Marinate prawns with turmeric powder,red chilly powder and salt.
  3. Heat oil in a Kadai/Pan.once oil is hot, add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
  4. Add garlic paste to it and saute well.
  5. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown in color.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes to it and mix well.
  7. Cover and cook on medium flame till oil is clear.
  8. Once oil starts to separate,add marinated prawns and mix.Let it cook for 3-4 minutes.
  9. Add tamarind pulp and grated jaggery to it . Cook for 3 minutes.
  10. Finally add chopped coriander leaves.
  11. Remove from fire.
  12. Serve with rice or Roti.
